WHAT WE DO

Appold is a London-based independent blockchain technology & advisory company operating in the blockchain industry, covering all areas of blockchain including decentralised finance and the tokenisation of assets.

Our strategy is to assist institutions, corporations and investor groups to access blockchain solutions in a fully supported manner.

We also assist Web3 Foundations in achieving their objectives. This includes treasury services, business development opportunities and enhancing operational procedures.

The management team has long-term experience in regulated financial institutions and deep connections in blockchain communities. As active members of these communities, the company is at the forefront of developments, opportunities and industry change. The name “Appold” was chosen as the Founders had previously worked on Appold Street in the City of London, which is based between the primary financial and technology districts of London.

Appold offers advisory services to institutions & corporate firms along, with teams & founders, in the Web3 industry. Web3 is a generic term that describes all areas of blockchain.

Blockchain Opportunities

As a private company, we sometimes look to grow our balance sheet by finding significant opportunities in the blockchain industry. Occasionally, we co-invest with clients or take equity in projects instead of charging fees for work undertaken.

The Management Team

  • Rob Gaskell

    Partner & Founder

    Rob is a Co-Founder of Appold. He is an investor and advisor to the emerging technology sector and has over 28 years of experience in running and expanding international financial organisations.

    Prior to Appold, Rob was a co-founder and President of the Pillar Project, a multi-chain DeFi wallet in the emerging Web3 economy. Before that Rob was a Director of Stonehage Fleming, one of the largest independent multi-service family offices, and Ermitage, a specialist asset manager, focused on the Hedge fund industry.

  • Pete Osborne

    Partner & Founder

    Pete is a Co-Founder of Appold. He is an investor in digital assets and more recently headed the European equities business of the Toronto Stock Exchange, TMX Group.

    Prior to his involvement in the blockchain industry, Pete has over 20 years of experience in listed derivatives and securities markets within stock exchange groups and investment banks. This includes Deutsche Bank, Singapore Exchange (SGX) and ABN Amro.

  • Jonny Loudon

    Strategy & Operations Manager

    Jonny is Strategy & Operations Manager responsible for driving Appold’s strategy, overseeing client projects and leading the company’s operations.

    Before joining Appold, Jonny spent almost 15 years working for the UK Ministry of Defence. Throughout his time he demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and project delivery across multiple jurisdictions. Jonny brings a unique perspective to Appold working closely with senior management to deliver innovative solutions and delivering on client expectations.

  • Andy Price

    Associate

    Andy is an Associate at Appold working with the team on client blockchain projects and undertaking research assignments.

    Prior to Appold, Andy worked for the UK Government based in the House of Commons working for a senior Minister of State. He has a Masters degree from Cambridge University and a degree from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). During his free time he is a keen mountaineer with an impressive track record of achievements.

  • Lilley Deevey

    People & Operations Advisor

    As Appold's People and Operations Advisor, Lilley is responsible for ensuring the continued success of Appold's People function in both the scaling of the organisation and the allocation of human capital resources across projects.

    Prior to joining Appold, Lilley has enjoyed a varied career within HR, Operations, and Talent Acquisition roles with specialist experience in the tech industry, most recently working as a Director within an HR and Training Consultancy.

  • Yew-Meng Fong

    Board Advisor

    Yew-Meng has over 30 years of experience working in capital markets and private equity in Singapore, Dubai, Tokyo, London and New York.

    He is a qualified chartered accountant and worked in senior leadership positions at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and HSBC throughout his career. More recently he has held senior advisory and board positions in both listed and non-listed companies
